Frequently asked questions.
Fees, confidentiality, scope and what an introduction actually is — the ten questions every new brief begins with.
What exactly does introduction.com.au do?
We research who your company should be talking to — distributors, suppliers, partners, buyers, in Australia or abroad — approach them discreetly, brief both sides, and make a warm introduction once both parties have agreed. Research and introductions; the meeting and the deal are yours.
How do fees work?
Engagement scope and fees are agreed in writing before any research starts, sized to the brief. We don’t publish a rate card because briefs vary enormously — but there are no hidden commissions, no fees buried in your eventual deal, and no charge for the initial conversation about whether we can help.
Are you brokers or advisers?
No. We are not licensed business brokers, financial advisers, M&A advisers, lawyers or migration agents. We make introductions and do the research behind them. Where a brief touches capital, regulation or law, engage the appropriate licensed advisers — we’ll be the first to say so.
How confidential is a brief?
Completely, by default. Your brief is read by us and shared with no one; your company is named to a prospective counterparty only after you approve the approach. NDAs are available before you share anything sensitive, and briefs are never pooled, resold or recycled into marketing.
What counts as an "introduction"?
A researched counterparty who fits your brief, has been briefed on the opportunity (without your name until you approve), and has agreed to meet or correspond. A warm handover — not a contact list, a LinkedIn URL or a directory export.
Which industries do you cover?
The method is industry-agnostic; our most frequent sectors are manufacturing, food & agribusiness, technology, health, construction products, mining services, professional services, education, logistics and consumer brands. If your sector is unusual, the research just starts one layer deeper.
How does the global side work?
Outbound: Australian companies seeking in-market partners abroad. Inbound: international companies entering Australia. Coverage is strongest in Australia, New Zealand and Asia-Pacific, extending through research and partner networks into North America, Europe and the Middle East — and we’re honest when a market is outside our reach.
How long does a search take?
Typically a few weeks from brief to first introductions for a well-defined search — research, discreet approaches and both-sides briefing take the time they take. "Active now" briefs are prioritised; we’ll give you a realistic timeline before engaging.
What do you need from us?
Candour. What you sell, what a great counterparty looks like, what’s off-limits, and the constraints that matter (territory, exclusivity, capacity, certifications). Ten honest minutes in the brief saves weeks of refinement.
Do you guarantee results?
No — and be wary of anyone who does. We guarantee diligence, discretion, both-sides briefing and warm handovers. Whether an introduction becomes a deal depends on your offer, your terms and the market. Introductions open doors; they don’t sign contracts.
